Going places - Summer 2017

Some with passports in hand and others with noses in textbooks, our students are spending the summer months practicing their passions and tightening their grasps of their art forms.

We've asked a few students from each of our four academic areas to share with us their summer stories in a blog post. So while they're jetsetting across the country (or world!) and gaining incredible experience at camps, agencies, companies and festivals, we'll be living vicariously through their exciting summer exploits here on the Fine Print.

In the coming weeks and months, stay tuned for posts and pictures from the following fine arts students and recent graduates:

 

Michael Arellano - A dance and psychology double major going into his junior year.  Michael will be attending a summer intensive with RUBBERBANDance Group in Quebec.

Samantha Berger - An Arts Management major working with Victory Gardens Theatre in Chicago.

Hannah Cremin - A senior with a stage management internship with the Naples Players.

Madeline Galer - A senior Photography and Intermedia BFA student traveling to the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and Italy on the Book Arts in Europe trip.
 
Savannah Gonsoulin - A Vocal Performance major who embarked on a ten-day tour of the Baltic States with University Chorale.
 
Molly Hill - A rising sophomore in the Musical Theatre Performance Program. She'll not only tell us about her time visiting theatres, museums and other arts venues in London, but she'll also document her experience with assisting with the College Audition Advantage summer program in Music Mountain, Connecticut.

Amy  Russell - Awarded a Lee Honors College Research and Creative Activities Scholarship, Amy will be diving into a research project to compile an extensive history of the Department of Dance at WMU.

Kirsten Smits - A dance BFA student pursuing a dance internship in Spain. 

Adam Stocker - A recent graduate in Theatre Design/Technical Production, Adam will be making costumes at the Glimmerglass Opera Festival in upstate New York. 

Kyleigh TerrisA soon-to-be junior BFA dance student who ventured to Panama withMovement Exchange.

Maria Vizcarra - A Music Performance student attending the Festival Internacional de Flautistas in Lima, Peru.

Carla Zorilla - A recent graphic design graduate who will be interning with Graham Hanson Design in New York City.
