Investing in the future of the arts: College of Fine Arts technology grants

One of the College of Fine Arts’ core values is to practice and promote art at the intersection of tradition and innovation. With this in mind, the college awarded five technology grants during the 2015-16 academic year. Covering expenses related to equipment, training, projects and participation at conferences, these awards empower our faculty and staff with resources necessary to continue advancing the innovation of our programs.

Western Michigan University’s College of Fine Arts, in collaboration with the WMU College of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the Haworth College of Business, recently announced a new program: Product Design and Innovation. Set to debut in the Fall of 2017, this program aims to prepare the next generation of innovators to create the future of design. But what does that really mean? What is Product Design and Innovation?
